gchempaint software package provides 2D chemical structures editor for the GNOME2 desktop, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gchempaint
gchempaint is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gchempaint package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gchempaint *
You will get with gchempaint package name, version, architecture and description in a table
